Jungle Jambo is the ultimate interactive theatre experience for kids produced by John Boone from Rhythm Interactive. Join Jambo on his journey to save the jungle and be part of his tribe (audience). An inspiring story which proves that together as one we’re so much stronger.
As a signature part of all Rhythm Interactive shows each member of the tribe is given an African styled hand drum to perform along with the performance.
Jungle Jambo is a story about a little monkey named Jambo who takes on the challenge to gather a tribe and teach his music in order to save the jungle from a railway being built through it. Once the tribe’s (audience) music is more powerful than the machines cutting down the trees the work on the railway will be stopped. But who is Brutos and what is he up to….Will Jambo succeed to save the jungle?
A magical performance suitable for kids aged 5 to 12, a show filled with fun and laughter an ideal activity for kids during the winter school holidays.

School shows
This show has been developed over the last five years with incredible results. Within seconds the Rhythm Interactive team will have your students singing and playing music together. The show uses a mixture of non-verbal and verbal communication with the underlying theme, ‘if you can say it you can play it’ and ‘together we can make a change’.
The middle and senior school drum show is a great way to inspire and motivate both students and teachers. Rhythm Interactive has been performing their interactive percussion shows for NZ schools since 2008. Not a single word is spoken throughout the entire show as part of their signature theme, ‘Actions speak louder than words’.
TEDx
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Rhythm Interactive is an interactive percussion experience.
A 1000 drums at the ready. No one really knew what to expect. Those that thought "I don't have any rhythm in my body" or "not sure if I want to do this" soon found out otherwise.
John entered singing and then proceeded to conduct the audience to hum, clap, drum, sing and generally make a noise.
By removing all dialogue from the show, makes people focus by having to listen and look. The audience had to be in the present moment to connect with what was happening around them and created magic.
